SUSTAINABILITY
For OUR younger generation, the future of OUR planet can be saved, if we all take responsibility for the way we live and act now. To help compensate for our business’ carbon footprint, we’ve partnered up with the following companies and organisations:
JUST ONE TREE
Making it simple to plant trees
A non-profit initiative making an impact in the fight against climate change through global reforestation. For every pound they receive, they plant a tree.
We have partnered with them to plant a tree for every membership.
BRAMLEY PRODUCTS
Natural range of bath and body products
Not only are Bramley products vegan friendly and cruelty free, they’re made in Britain, and all their ingredients are bio-degradable and are safe to be washed into rivers and oceans making Bramley safe for the environment as well as your body.
We also chose Bramley for their sustainability. Using glass bottles and refilling from 5l bottles. Where plastic is used by Bramley, it is 100% recyclable and biopolymer, meaning sugarcane is used in the manufacturing process rather than fossil fuels.
LONDON BIO PACKAGING
Sustainable disposable packaging
Our take away cups and accompanying items, e.g. lids, napkins and stirrers, are made from plants, which break down to grow more plants. London Bio Packaging aim to sell the most sustainable disposables on the market today. The way they see it, there are two sides of the sustainability coin when it comes to disposable packaging: what is it made of and what can you do with it after use. The Sustain range we’ve chosen to use in our studio, was designed to check both of those boxes, they’re completely renewable, made from 100% renewable resources.
TEAPIGS
Plastic-free tea company
Tea temple teabags are made from corn starch and paper, which breaks down in industrial composting within 12 weeks. The inner bag looks like plastic, but is made from wood pulp, genius, which is suitable for home compost and council food waste, and the outer pack is FSC certified paper board and printed with vegetable ink, also recyclable.
NESPRESSO
Infinitely recycled coffee capsules
Nespresso use aluminium to protect the quality and freshness of their coffees. The capsules can be infinitely recycled, meaning the aluminium can be remelted and reused to make new products time after time. So, here at MOVEMENT WORKSHOP, we’ve signed up to the dedicated Nespresso scheme, where used capsules are sent to a specialist recycling processing plant in Congleton, Cheshire. The capsules can be made into cans, bicycles and new coffee capsules. They even re-use the coffee grounds to create compost.
CANO WATER
A solution to plastic polution
There’s no excuse for any of us to use plastic bottles anymore, and that’s where CanO Water comes in. It was created in response to the damaging impact that plastic bottles have on the environment, with approximately 8 million tonnes of plastic ending up in the ocean each year, CanO Water is an infinitely recyclable alternative to plastic bottles. So we’ll be recycling the cans and we ask you to do the same, and they’ll be back on the shelf in as little as 6 weeks.
